Profiles
A little bit of us, some of the things you should
know, and then some that you shouldn't. Here we
are, humble with a tinge of insanity. Everybody
in the Advertising world is a little quacky at times,
even the most outstanding individuals.

take the soft option and headed for the University

There are marketers,
and then there’s Léonie Hilsdon.
Only this woman could apply for a job under the
pretext of manhood. Léonie has coined herself
the world’s first female “Marketing
Manager with Balls”.
Behind her “proper-English” disposition
lies a deep passion for the sword power of the
written word. She is without question the single
best married-to-a-lawyer-grew up-in-Kenya-white-woman
creative writer this side of Bangladesh. If lions
could read, Léonie could domesticate them
with a few stokes of her steel, either felt-tip
or rollerball. And if that were possible her landlord
would surely evict her under the premises of animal-shelter-like
activities in her home. This
editor will soon get a lesson regarding the
uses of hyphenation.
Despite her few-and-far-between misgivings, Léonie
is the best Communications Pragmatist known to
the BVI. She has unparalleled energy for results
and polishing the job done, and on time. The section
of this site called When deadline means DEADLINE
is dedicated to her.
As a coworker, it is, and will always be, a pleasure
to work with her.

Nick Cunha |
|
CAPTAIN, DESIGN
Graphic Designer, Visionary & Yankee
Age:20-30
Favorite Animal: Chick
Favorite activity: Wallyball |
| This talented artist
spends his days and nights oblivious to the Sun's
radiation. The designer/robot has been with aLG
since Jan 05. Time after time he manages to produce
riveting designs while providing our in-house
entertainment. He admits,"It's not about
the caribbean lifestyle that brought me here.
It's about the design, the clientel and whatever
else I failed to mention."
Nick is equally in the office grinding though
his keyboard and mousepad or twisting wrist-shots
on the island hockey court, both with suavity
and fascinating results. Born in Kansas City Missouri
and educated in Denver Colorado and going on his
second year as a professional, Mr. Cunha has strutted
his stuff in the Graphic Design industry with
style and finesse
Although always the first to grab and explore
new design software as it rolls in off the great
wave that is the internet-revolution, Nick is
also talented in fine art, with which he has recieved
public recognition and numerous awards in both
Kansas City and Denver.
Nick moved to Tortola on a whim, destroyed a coffee
pot and decided to extend his stay. The new pot
will need to be made of steel but hey, it's an
investment.

Dominic
Timmis |
|
Master & Commander |
An adventurist to
say the least, Dominic comes to us from the far
away Emerald Isle, to live a life less
Mac. Poor Dominic, a Mac purist being forced,
no, submerged, into the ways of the" PeeCee."
But he's surviving!
Mr. T arrived via a top-notch multimedia company in Switzerland
with an extensive knowledge of HTML, flash and
the plethora of other multimedia programmes that
come along with it. From snowy mountains to sandy
seashores, he has made the transition with comparative
ease and he’ll probably leave with a certified
seat at Le Cabanon (our local bar)...right next
to the rest of us!
In truth, Dom is a very talented designer delivering
a fresh eye and a fresh approach to aLookingGlass’
rapidly expanding portfolio. His arrival means
our web design capability can soar to new heights
of sophistication; and with the capability now
‘in house’, we hope our clientele
can be more than satisfied. The coffee has certainly
benefited from his arrival.
